A Westminster woman was arrested Sunday on suspicion of murder after officers discovered a body while responding to a disturbance, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the 3300 block of 92nd Place just before 2 p.m. Sunday, according to a statement from the Westminster Police Department.
When they arrived, officers found a dead woman “with visible signs of trauma,” police said.
Sarah Riste, a 37-year-old woman who was inside the home with a child when officers arrived, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, police said. The child was safely turned over to welfare officials.
Riste was booked into the Adams County Detention Facility at about 11 p.m. Sunday and is being held without bail, according to jail records.

Riste’s next court date had not yet been scheduled as of Monday afternoon, according to court records.
