Jonathan Kuminga is playing hardball with the Golden State Warriors — and it appears they are responding in kind.

The restricted free agent is sitting out of Monday’s media day as talks continue over a contract extension.

Multiple reports suggest that the 22-year-old has two offers on the table with a team option — two years and $45 million or three years and $75.2 million.

It is believed that Kuminga has also been offered a three-year $54 million deal without a team option.

The forward has until Wednesday to make a decision, with a $7.9 million qualifying offer also on the table.

Golden State bosses are not waiting around for a decision with practices starting Tuesday.

Warriors make roster moves

ESPN insider Shams Charania is reporting that the Warriors have received a “verbal commitment” from Al Horford while De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II have agreed terms.

Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. reportedly made contact with Kuminga’s agent, Aaron Turner, on Sunday, but no progress was made.

Head coach Steve Kerr and general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. are now getting on with the business that was put on pause during talks, with signing Steph Curry‘s brother Seth also on the cards.

It sends a clear message to Kuminga, who also skipped Jimmy Butler’s minicamp in San Diego, and his agent that plans are being finalized despite his holdout.

Center Horford is 39 and entering his 19th season, but is still a skilled operator.

He played 60 games for the Boston Celtics, starting 42, and averaged 9 points with 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

“This is a good damn pickup for the Warriors,” ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith wrote on X. “The ageless Horford can still defend, can shoot (spread the floor) and it’ll help Dray! Luv it.”

Horford is 6ft 9in and shot 38.2 percent from beyond the arc during his time with the Celtics, offering an option from distance as well as a defensive presence.

What next for Jonathan Kuminga?

If Kuminga takes up his qualifying offer, he would lose out financially but secure a no-trade clause and unrestricted free agency in 2026.

The Warriors face losing their No. 7 pick from 2021 for nothing, but have so far held firm on refusing to offer a player option.

Kuminga is one of the few stars under 30 in an ageing Golden State team that also includes Draymond Green.

The 6ft 7in forward played 47 games last season, averaging 15 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
