AUSTIN (KXAN) — A head-on collision in northeastern Travis County has led to one death, as well as lane closures in the area Thursday morning.

According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), the crash was near Farm-to-Market 973 and Schmidt Lane, which is near Manor. TCSO's website said the crash occurred around 4:35 a.m.

TCSO said the Texas Department of Public Safety was also assisting with the crash.

“Intermittent road and lane closures will be necessary to clear the incident,” TCSO said.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
