With the 2025 elections quickly approaching, Weld County Clerk and Recorder Carly Koppes will invite the public to attend the test of the voting equipment. State law requires the testing before elections, ensuring the system accurately records votes.
The testing begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 and will last until the process is finished at the Weld County Election Office, 1250 H St., in Greeley.
As part of the test, members of both the Republican and Democratic parties will mark blank ballots and compare those marks to the marks recorded by the machines to test accuracy. Additionally, these party representatives will randomly select one machine to be deployed to the Voter Service and Polling Center.
This testing is open to anyone who makes prior arrangements with the Clerk and Recorder’s Election Office by emailing elections@weld.gov. The county will only have a limited amount of space for residents, so they encourage anyone interested to make arrangements as soon as possible.
