Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys were humbled by the Chicago Bears on Sunday, and Jerry Jones wasn’t happy with his franchise quarterback.
The billionaire owner of America’s Team, who made Prescott the highest-paid player in the NFL 12 months ago, watched his star throw two interceptions from the stands at Soldier Field.
Prescott threw two fourth-quarter interceptions against the BearsGettyA sloppy Cowboys team were beaten 31-14 by the Bears, as Ben Johnson’s unit picked up their first win of the 2025 season.
Chicago had pulled away by the end of the third quarter, leaving Prescott & Co. chasing the game in the fourth.
The $240 million QB threw his first pick with 13:30 on the clock, when wide receiver George Pickens failed to secure a pass and batted the ball into the hands of a diving Tremaine Edmunds.
For that moment, the blame could not solely be placed on Prescott.
But his second interception was unforgivable.
On fourth and goal, with less than five minutes to play, the 32-year-old floated the ball into the endzone.
It was grabbed, again, by Edmunds, and a drive that started on the Cowboys’ own eight-yard line ended with no points.
Jones fumes at Prescott pick
After Prescott’s mistake, Fox Sports cameras zeroed in on owner Jones, who was absolutely furious with what he had just witnessed.
The 82-year-old was seen shaking his head as he leaned forward, with a clear look of disappointment on his face.
“Jerry Jones is not enjoying his time in Chicago today,” the official Fox Sports NFL X account posted, as Dallas slipped to 1-2 on the season.

After throwing two fourth-quarter picks, Prescott was pulled from the game by Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Backup Joe Milton stepped in for the final drive, and completed a 24-yard pass to Pickens on the first play.
But he failed to get much going after that, and Milton’s drive ended with another interception in the Bears endzone.
Speaking post-game, Prescott addressed Schottenheimer’s decision to bench for the final drive.
“Obviously, I want every rep,” he said.
“Never happy about getting pulled out. But, you know, you’ve got to be realistic and professional, understanding that where the game was.
Williams had arguably the best game of his young career against Dallas Prescott was not ‘happy’ to be benched but admitted he understood the decisionGetty“I had a chance right there to go and score in the redzone, and we didn’t. And at that point, it was a three-score game with two minutes left.
“It’s a young season. As hard headed as I am, and I want to get out there, get every rep — those guys are teeing off in the rush, right?
“I want to stay healthy, and I want to be healthy.
“I’m sure that was a big part of that decision there, so yeah, I understood it.”
