Generations of area families have been educated at Saddleback College since it opened its doors to students in 1968, according to Jennie McCue, public information officer.McCue said Saddleback features five schools and more than 100 academic programs.
“Saddleback’s renowned nursing program is ranked first in the nation in the licensure exam pass rate,” McCue said. “Saddleback offers a new Multicultural Center, a basic needs center — food pantry, clothing boutique, and resources for housing, transportation, utilities and other financial needs.”
Saddleback’s Child Development Center offers child care services for the children of students, community members, and college faculty and staff. The VETS program provides support services to help ease the transition for military veterans into civilian and college life. Services are also offered to active-duty military personnel and their families.
“Saddleback is opening a new 50,000-square-foot site at the Advanced Technology and Education Park in Tustin to provide a state-of-the-art learning space for our highly regarded programs in culinary arts and advanced automotive,” McCue said. “In January 2026, we open our new Math & Computer Science building featuring a glass cybersecurity lab and digital wall to support our new role as a West Coast regional training center in cybersecurity. New AI curriculum will be offered there to prepare all students for the future workplace. The MCS building won an AIA design award before construction even began.”
2. Orange Coast College
