Wrexham’s trip to Norwich on Saturday is set to reignite one of Hollywood’s most infamous feuds.

The Red Dragons make the trip to Carrow Road for their sixth match of the Championship season.

Phil Parkinson’s side will be looking to bounce back from their home defeat to Queens Park Rangers with a second victory of the campaign.

Their loss to the Hornets leaves Wrexham 21st in the table after winning just one of their first five fixtures.

It follows three successive promotions to return to the second tier after a 43-year absence.

Co-owner Ryan Reynolds will also have the chance to get one over one of his closest friends with a victory against the Canaries.

Fellow actor Hugh Jackman has made no secret of his support for the East Anglia club.

The Australian explained the reasoning behind his decision to become a lifelong Norwich fan back in July 2024.

He told The One Show: “My mum was born and bred and lives in Norwich. I grew up in Australia, my parents emigrated.

“I remember being about seven and saying to my parents, ‘I want to find a team’.

“‘Dad, where are you from?’ He goes ‘I’m from London’. I said, ‘well what’s the team?’ He was like ‘there are five teams’.

“I said ‘mum where are you from?’ She goes ‘Norwich’.”

The club’s lack of silverware has not deterred Jackman, who added: “We haven’t won a lot. We won the Milk Cup. It’s ok, I’m here for the long run.”

Jackman was even approached to invest in Norwich back in 2011 prior to their promotion to the Premier League.

Having turned down the opportunity, though, he has since been offered the chance to do the same at other clubs since Reynolds’ Wrexham takeover.

His friend and co-star bought the then National League side alongside Rob McElhenney in 2020 before overseeing their climb up the divisions.

Those promotions have set up a first meeting between Norwich and Wrexham since 1982.

The visitors will be looking for only their second win in the fixture, with their previous victory coming in the FA Cup 45 years ago.

Reynolds and Jackman have maintained a long-running fake feud on social media and in interviewsGetty

Their clash will also reignite Reynolds and Jackman’s ongoing fake feud, which they began shortly after meeting whilst filming X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2008.

They have since entertained fans by regularly poking fun at each other on social media and in interviews.

Reynolds has even made multiple references to Jackman in his role as Deadpool before the pair starred together in last year’s superhero sequel.

Although they have previously called truces in their ‘feud’, there is likely to be no such ceasefire come 3pm on Saturday.
