Fire crews from three North County departments quickly contained a vegetation fire that broke out along state Route 78 Monday afternoon, with authorities arresting one suspect in connection with the incident.

At 1:38 p.m., units from the Oceanside, Carlsbad and Vista Fire Departments responded to reports of a vegetation fire at 3410 Marron Road, adjacent to the busy highway corridor.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered three separate ignition points, prompting a coordinated attack to prevent the blaze from spreading. Crews successfully contained the fire to two acres before it could threaten nearby structures, officials said.
