An attack from both the air and on the ground Sunday kept a brush fire to six acres in the community of Lake Henshaw, east of Palomar Mountain.
Cal Fire announced at 4:10 p.m. Sunday that the fire was burning in light grasses in the area of East Grade and Highway 76. Firefighters deployed aircraft and ground crews, and by 4:45 p.m., officials announced the fire was holding at around two acres.
Officials updated the Henshaw Fire’s size at 6:29 p.m. “due to more accurate mapping,” with six acres burned and the fire 80% contained by lines of cleared vegetation.
No injuries or evacuations were reported.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
