The Bears’ Pro Bowl cornerback suffered an offseason groin injury that made him begin the season on the non-football injury list. Johnson’s stay lasted throughout the entirety of training camp and the preseason. And while the cornerback did make an effort to be available for Week 1, he wasn’t ready. I hope this injury isn’t something that could have been avoided had he waited an extra week to return.
