Copenhagen was named the happiest city in the world earlier this year.
The Sun’s Deputy Travel Editor Kara Godfrey fell in love with the capital of Denmark when she visited, and revealed her highlights.
She said: “I spent a week properly exploring Copenhagen by myself, and it became one of my favourite European cities.
“Of course a visit to Tivoli – a small theme park that was said to have inspired Disney – is a must, along with a trip to see the Little Mermaid statue.
“But cafe hopping is also a must especially when visiting in autumn for some extra warmth. Head to Atelier September for a coffee and people watching afternoon, or Mad & Kaffe for a brunch platter.
“I’m still dreaming of my tasty porridge from GROD, a bar that only serves porridge, risotto and congee.”
Anyone wanting to get into the Christmas spirit, Copenhagen is a great city with lots of festive markets popping up from mid-November to late December.
