The American Swimming Coaches’ Association (ASCA) re-elected two coaches during its vote last week at the ASCA convention in Reno.
Tim Hill from Sharks Swim Club in Friendswood, Texas and Ian Murray from the Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta will both serve fresh three year terms.
Additionally, all four board officers, voted on by board members, will continue their positions for another year:
President – Bill Dorenkott, Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio) Vice President – Emily Melina, Lake Oswego Swim Club (Lake Oswego, Oregon) Treasurer – Ellen Johnston, Westport Water Rats (Westport, Connecticut) Secretary – Ian Murray, Dynamo Swim Club (Atlanta, Georgia)Dorenkott was first elected as the President of the Board of Directors for a second term. He took over last year from Mike Murray, who served two years in the role. The maximum consecutive terms allowed as president is three, then an individual must sit out as president for one year before being re-elected to the same role.
Dorenkott is in his 14th year at Ohio State and his 5th year as the director of men’s and women’s swimming and diving.
Kevin Pan, the head coach and founder of the Dragon Swim Team in the Potomac Valley Swimming LSC, was the other nominee.
