FREMONT — A drive-by shooting late Friday night killed two people and injured another in Fremont, Fremont Police said in a news release Saturday morning.
Police said an unknown shooter in a vehicle shot at least three people before driving away sometime before about 11:12 p.m. Friday night “in a large parking lot” in the 6000 block of Stevenson Boulevard, striking three people. One victim died at the scene, while two others were transported to a hospital, police said. One of the other victims died at the hospital, police said.
Medical personnel Saturday morning were still treating the third victim, who remained alive, police said.
Police did not release the identities of any of the victims, nor did they report any other injuries or arrests in this shooting Saturday.
This marks Fremont’s third and fourth homicide investigations this year, police said.
A parking dispute on June 20 that ended up in a fatal shooting led to the city’s first homicide along Overacker Avenue, while another fatal shooting on July 1 between longtime friends nearby a homeless encampment along Northport Loop West resulted in the second homicide of the year, according to police.
