Egyptian champion Farida Khalil, 14, won the gold medal in the women’s individual competition at UIPM 2025 Pentathlon World Championships in Lithuania, becoming the youngest ever gold medalist.
Khalil finished first with a total of 1,457 points, ahead of Hungary’s Blanka Guzi, who came in second with 1,445 points, while Italy’s Aurora Tognetti finished third with 1,432 points.
The Egyptian team, made up of Khalil, Malak Ismail, and Jana Attia, also won the bronze medal in the team competition, behind Italy and Great Britain.
Egypt has thus far dominated the World Championship podium with two individual gold medals and two team bronze medals.
Moataz Wael won the gold medal at the World Championship, becoming the first Egyptian athlete to win a world title.
Egypt also won the bronze medal in the men’s team competition through the trio of Wael, Muhannad Shaaban, and Mohamed Hatem. France won the gold medal, while Ukraine took silver.
