(KRON) — An 18-year-old man from Newark was arrested for attempted murder Sunday in connection to a Newark stabbing motivated by “a desire for notoriety,” according to the Newark Police Department.
Newark Police Department officers responded to an assault near the 5600 block of Thornton Avenue at 11:36 p.m. on Aug. 19 and found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to a local trauma center and are now in stable condition.
A stabbing motivated by notoriety occurred on the 5600 block of Thornton Avenue in Newark, Calif on Aug. 19, according to the Newark Police Department.The NPD SWAT Team arrested the suspect, Luis McLaughlin Jr., while serving a search warrant on the 5000 block of Civic Terrace Avenue Sunday.
