Notre Dame on Saturday announced that a pair of offensive players have been lost for the year and will undergo surgery after suffering knee injuries.
Kedren Young, a former 4-star recruit from the class of 2024 and ranked as a top 10 running back in his class, has torn the ACL in his right knee, according to the program. Young appeared in 7 games as a true freshman and totaled 21 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown. As 4 of his 7 appearances came in the regular season, he was considered a redshirt going into 2025.
Meanwhile, tight end Kevin Bauman has suffered what is being called an “articular cartilage injury” in his left knee. It’s the latest in a series of injuries for the sixth-year player, a 2020 recruit, who played in 4 games in his first year before suffering a broken fibula in 2021 that limited him to 5 games that year. ACL injuries then limited his time in 2022 and 2023 before he played in 14 games in his 5th season with the program.
