COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Attorneys for Ohio State are asking the judge overseeing the lawsuit filed by the sexual abuse victims of a former university physician to limit what they say to the media.

The request, filed last week in federal court, cites former Ohio State athletes who took part in the HBO documentary "Surviving Ohio State" and a source who leaked the deposition testimony of a former Ohio State official to NBC4.

Attorneys for the victims had apologized after NBC4 reported on the deposition of former Ohio State athletic director Andy Geiger before it was public knowledge. It also reported on the same day that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a former assistant wrestling coach for the Buckeyes, was going to be deposed.

The lawsuit is in response to the university's alleged inaction against Dr. Richard Strauss, who sexually abused or raped at least 177 male students and student athletes while serving as a team physician from 1978 to '96. Strauss died by suicide in 2005.

Colleen Marshall of NBC4 has reported on the Strauss story for years and was one of the persons interview for Surviving Ohio State, a documentary that lists George Clooney among its producers. It debuted in June.
