Michael Kim slammed the DP World Tour after stars were hit by travel chaos en route to The Open.

The American finished in a tie for 34th at the Scottish Open — 11 shots behind champion Chris Gotterup — before heading to Northern Ireland.

Kim regularly gives fans a behind-the-scenes view into life as a pro golfer on his X account.

He was not impressed by the organization at The Renaissance Club.

“The way DP World Tour ran the tournament this week… left a lot to be desired,” wrote Kim. “Wrong numbers on a pin sheet and the charter plane to the Open was a TOTAL mess.

“Two yrs ago, it was ran top class so it was disappointing to say the least.”

It was not all bad news for Kim, who will now look to improve on a best Open finish of 35th at Royal Portrush.

He enjoyed the food in Scotland and also appears to have found a new beer of choice, although he pledged to do further testing.

“People always make fun of the food in the UK but imo the floor is higher than in America,” he added. “The ceiling isn’t as high but I’m always pleasantly surprised with some of the food here.

“I might have enjoyed Tennents [Lager] more than Guinness. Will give it another go in Northern Ireland today.”

Kim, who did a Q&A with fans while delayed at the airport, missed the cut at his last open two years ago.

Compatriot Scottie Scheffler goes into the tournament as favorite after finishing in a tie for eighth in Scotland.

Rory McIlroy is hot on his heels on the course where he announced himself to the world in 2005.

During the North of Ireland Amateur Championship McIlroy shot a ridiculous course-record 61, which included nine birdies and an eagle.

“Whenever I think back about Royal Portrush, links golf and my development, I always think about that round,” he told The Open’s social media channel. “I came here and it’s a course I’d played so many times.

“I came out onto the Dunluce here and it was the best round of golf I’d ever played at that point, one of the best rounds I’ve ever played.

“The confidence I had – and the cockiness as well I guess – at 16, I think I need to rediscover a little bit.

“There’s not many rounds where I remember every shot but that day I do. I remember missing a putt at the first for birdie, I hit a driver, six iron onto the middle of the green at the second and two putted for birdie, I made a great birdie at the par-three sixth.

“I remember hitting a wedge into the ninth that was playing as a par-five at the time, I got to nine-under par after 16 and I thought if I can par in and shoot the course record at Portrush, that would be something very special and something I would remember for a long time.

“I got to 10-under and I thought ‘Just don’t screw this up at the last! You can even make bogey and still have the course record’. I hit a perfect drive and a good eight iron into the heart of the green.

“All I was trying to do was two putt from 20 feet and I rolled it in.”

McIlroy ended his 11-year Major drought as he completed a Grand Slam at an emotional Masters earlier this year.

His form dropped after the dramatic victory but is trending in the right direction as the 36-year-old looks to build his legacy in his homeland.
