A 69-year-old woman has died and a driver is in custody after a collision in South Loop Sunday morning.
According to Chicago police, the collision occurred in the 800 block of West Roosevelt Road at approximately 6:40 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the woman was walking in the street when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old woman.
The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver was taken into custody, police said. Charges are pending in the case.
An investigation remains underway, and further details about the circumstances of the collision were not immediately available.
