VARICK, N.Y. — Over a dozen fire departments responded to a barn fire on Monday, July 7.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames under control, keeping the nearby home and smaller structures on the property safe. Crews were at the barn for about seven hours putting out the fire and cleaning up.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office responded along with Varick Fire Department and multiple mutual aid assistance including Romulus, Canoga, Interlaken, Lodi, Waterloo, Seneca Falls, Hector, Ovid, Oaks Corners, Fayette, Trumansburg, Junius and Clyde Fire Departments responded to the scene as well.
Investigators say the fire started from a barn fan shortage. No one was injured.
