Nitish Kumar Reddy struck twice in an over to provide two early breakthroughs for India in the ENG vs IND 3rd Test at Lord’s. Having not been used much at Edgbaston, the Andhra Pradesh all-rounder made an instant impact in the 2nd Test, grabbing eyeballs. England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bat first in a bid to take a 2-1 lead in the levelled series.
Nitish Reddy on fire!
Nitish started off his over with a delivery that narrowly missed Duckett’s outside edge. Having hit the next ball for boundary, the England opener attempted the same on the third delivery, only to get caught down the leg side by Rishabh Pant. Two deliveries and a near miss later, Nitish Reddy picked up his second wicket of the over as Crawley was now caught behind by Pant.

— InsideSport (@InsideSportIND) July 10, 2025Nitish made minimum impact with the ball in the ENG vs IND 2nd Test at Edgbaston, mainly because he was used only for six overs as a bowler. The rationale behind his inclusion in the playing XI is to strengthen India’s batting order in the ongoing series.
Nitish Reddy got the breakthroughs for India that the trio of Bumrah-Siraj-Akash Deep couldn’t get early on Day 1 at Lord’s. The all-rounder made his Test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last year after he was fast-tracked to the Indian side. He made majority of the contribution with the bat but also helped with the ball by taking 5 wickets in the series against Australia. While there was debate about Nitish being good with the ball, the youngster seems to have silenced his critics with a stellar first over at Lord’s.
