Let me help you out there—this Prime Day, the Asus ROG Strix G16 is a great bet. This laptop has a large screen, isn't too heavy, and while it leans a bit hard on the hardcore aesthetics, you can turn off its RGB lights if those aren't your thing. Most notably, it's available at a number of price points, depending on how powerful you want it to be.
ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) Gaming Laptop, 16” Nebula Display 16:10 QHD 240Hz, GeForce RTX 4060, Intel® Core™ i9-14900HX, 16GB DDR5-5600, 1TB PCIe SSD, Wi-Fi 6E, Windows 11, G614JVR-ES94 $1,299.99 at Amazon $1,699.99 Save $400.00 Get Deal Get Deal $1,299.99 at Amazon $1,699.99 Save $400.00If you want something a bit more powerful, consider this $1,999 version ($400 off). This model upgrades you to a more recent Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, an RTX 5070 Ti GPU, and 32GB of RAM. That sets you up to play all but the most demanding games at high settings and at or above 60 fps, and is probably the best bet for most players.
There are a few other models on sale too, although the value consideration isn't as strong. Technically, you could get this laptop for as cheap as $1,274, but what you'll lose in power probably isn't worth it. Still, it's worth looking through the other options to see what might suit you best.
Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot have Prime Day competition sales that are especially useful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.
Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.
Home Depot extended its 4th of July sale through at least July 9, competing with some amazing deals of its own. It’s an especially good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor equipment.
