TIKTOK is working against the clock to find a solution for its impending US ban.

The Chinese-based app is reportedly building an American version for users with an expected launch date set for 2025.

President Donald Trump has pushed for the sale of the app to a US buyer but so far, no deals have been made.

The American version of the app is set to launch in September, according to The Information.

TikTok faces an imminent ban from the United States as its shutdown date has been pushed back multiple times by the president in an attempt to reach an agreement.

The news of a new version broke as Trump claimed that he plans to talk to China about a possible solution for the video app.

“We pretty much have a deal,” the president said on Friday. “We’re gonna start Monday or Tuesday.”

The app faces a deadline of September 17, with numerous American investors attempting to buy TikTok in recent months to no avail.

Many have claimed that the most valuable part about the app is its algorithm, which has been pointed to for TikTok’s success.

The video app’s parent company, Chinese-based ByteDance, was against divesting the asset to America in the past, but almost came to a deal with US officials in April.

“President Xi and I have a great relationship, and I think it’s good for them,” Trump said. “I think the deal is good for China, and it’s good for us.”

Congress voted last year to ban TikTok if its demands weren’t met.

Former President Joe Biden, along with those who voted against the app, cited national security concerns as their reason behind the ban.

The report claimed that a new app will have to be downloaded by users and the original TikTok will stop working March 2026, although the exact dates are subject to change.

Chinese officials have said that the sale would have to be approved by China before a deal could be made.

Earlier this year, negotiation efforts were halted after an intense tariff war began between the United States and China.

Reports alleged that ByteDance, the United States and investors had approved a solution to keep the app afloat in America earlier this year.

But the agreement was quickly shot down by China when Trump pushed additional tariffs onto the country.

“My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress,” the president posted on Truth Social in April.

“We do not want TikTok to ‘go dark.'”

After its first shutdown deadline passed, the app shut down for hours as frenzied users looked for different apps to get their social media fix from.

Trump then swooped in to halt the app’s shuttering — one of his first actions upon his return to the White House.

Trump hinted on Fox News last week that “a group of very wealthy people” were attempting to buy the app from ByteDance.

He then said he would spill more information on the sale in two weeks.
