She revealed that when she went along with the family to the airport to bid goodbye to the Indian bowler, she comforted him from worrying about her health and told him to focus on the game and give his best for the nation in England.
She is suffering from 3rd-stage cancer, and the doctor has subjected her to treatment, which is destined to continue for 6 months before any decision is made.
Akash Deep's sister seemed unaware of his sudden disclosure
It seems she barely had an idea of what Akash planned to reveal about her sister's ailing health. He turned emotional and, in a weak moment, might have spilled it out; as Jyoti mentions, this wasn't known to many before Akash Deep announced it over on Global TV.
"It shows how much he loves our family and me. Given the situation at home, and still performing like that and taking wickets there, it’s a huge thing. I’m the one he is closest to,” added the Indian cricketer's sister.
