Former Phoenix Suns center Mason Plumlee has agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Plumlee, 35, averaged 4.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.4 steals in 71 games for the Suns.
He made 21 starts but was later replaced by Nick Richards, after Phoenix acquired the big from Charlotte ahead of last year’s trade deadline for Josh Okogie and three second-round picks. The Suns later traded center Jusuf Nurkic to the Hornets at the deadline, who have since traded Nurkic to the Utah Jazz on Sunday for Collin Sexton.
This past week, the Suns added center Mark Williams via a trade with the Hornets and Duke center Khaman Maluach via a trade in the draft. The Suns still have Richards and Oso Ighodaro as additional frontcourt depth. The Suns guaranteed the final year and $5 million owed to Richards on Sunday.
