Five Guys takes on classic Wendy’s Frosty with returning shake after fans scream ‘Fusions’ were ‘gaming changing’ ...Middle East

FIVE Guys is competing with Wendy’s Frosty this summer as a beloved shake option returns to menus.

The fast food chain confirmed the dessert’s comeback earlier this month with customizable options.

“Guess who’s back? The Five Guys coffee milkshake is back!” the company wrote in a reel on Facebook.

Included was a clip of espresso beans showering over top of the vanilla milkshake and whipped cream on top.

“Bold espresso meets creamy vanilla ice cream,” Five Guys added.

This time around, customers can also add “mix-ins” to the coffee milkshake if they want to.

This includes caramel, chocolate, or strawberry flavors.

COST CONCERNS

Some customers issued excitement about the coffee milkshake’s return, but others were nervous that it would be too costly.

“Salted Caramel sounds good,” a longtime Five Guys fan commented.

“Ouuuu. But will this be $200 too?” another asked.

While prices will vary by location and state, some shakes at Five Guys do sell for around $7.19, per Boston News Cafe.

Mix-ins are also free of charge for the shakes.

Either way, the move from Five Guys seems to directly compete with the recent introduction of Frosty Fusions at Wendy’s.

Wendy’s announced the impending arrival of Frosty Fusions along with Frosty Swirls in March.

A month later, Frosty Swirls launched with the choice of three different sauces to include in a base ice cream flavor.

They included brownie batter, caramel and strawberry.

Except in May, Frosty Fusions also rolled out, combining the sauces and mix-ins.

The mix-ins include OREO cookie chunks, toffee, and strawberry pop-tarts pieces.

All the combinations can be purchased at Wendy’s over 5,900 restaurants nationwide.

Average price for the Frosty Fusion runs around $4 for a small, according to PureWow.

Except, this will, like with Five Guys, vary by location and state.

Five Guys and Wendy’s also aren’t the only restaurants and retailers offering treats for summertime.

For example, a popular ice cream maker and Ben & Jerry’s rival is is bringing back a fan-favorite option after five years.

Chips Ahoy! also launched a new cookie flavor recently for summer that’s inspired by ice cream.

Kroger is also stocked up with a $24.99 “colossal” pastry that weighs a whopping four pounds.
