DENVER (KDVR) -- Detectives are investigating suspected gang activity at an apartment complex in Aurora after video surfaced showing several men with their guns drawn and pointed toward the door of an apartment unit.
The Aurora Police Department held a press conference Tuesday to address the video. Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said the incident has several similarities to incidents that occurred involving alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua at now closed-down The Edge at Lowry apartments.

It happened overnight June 9, and one of the individuals was knocking on the door. Police said the residents did not open the door.
Chamberlain said the people living in the unit had moved from Venezuela just two days prior. He said he believes that they are the latest to be victimized by others who also immigrated from Venezuela, the criminals whom they were trying to get away from.
The apartment complex is located near Sixth Avenue and Potomac Street. Chamberlain said police officers have spent tens of hours in the area over recent weeks and have knocked on all residents' doors to alert them of the incident and ask for help gathering information.
Police said there have been at least a dozen separate incidents reported at the complex since fall 2024. This includes multiple reports of shots fired and reports of people, sometimes juveniles, being kidnapped or pulled into apartments.
Last Monday, June 9, the police department responded to a call for service regarding weapons at the apartment complex. Police met to plan on Tuesday and set the plan into motion on Wednesday, going into the apartment complex. They knocked on the doors of 11 vacant units, six units where residents were believed to be victimized, and one where officers executed a search warrant.

That suspect was arrested on Wednesday. Another, who police said is seen in the video toward the bottom of the stairs, was arrested on Thursday.
Larry Galbreath, 23, was arrested and faces charges of menacing with a firearm, a felony, and violation of a protection order. Jordan Green, 22, was arrested and released on a summons; however, police said that new evidence has since come to light and that the summons will be revoked. A warrant for his arrest is pending for charges including conspiracy to commit felony menacing and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Police believe there are about nine people involved in this incident, and said they are actively working to identify those people and take them into custody. Chamberlain added that police will work with local, state and federal resources to do so. He said the suspects will likely face charges including criminal menacing.
The police department knocked on doors in the area and handed out flyers in both English and Spanish, alerting residents to the activity and asking them to report any information.
Chamberlain said police were made aware of the video through an investigation into the multiple calls for service at the apartment complex.
"The reason that I am showing this video now is because I want everyone to understand and to know that we are ahead of this, this isn't something that we are reacting to, this is something that we are proactively addressing with everything that we can possibly do," Chamberlain said.
