PENFIELD, N.Y. — Saturday, June 28, marks the day for the Town of Penfield to host its annual Independence Day celebration.

Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts confirmed the date and states “I look forward to this day each year, and I am excited to come together with the community to celebrate our nation’s independence.”

Morning Parade

The all-day celebration will begin with a parade that starts at 10 a.m. at Penfield High School. The parade will take the route of Five Mile Line Rd. south to Route 441, east on Route 441 to Baird Rd., and north on Baird Rd., ending at Penfield Community Center. Roads will close at 9:45 a.m. and no parking signs will be posted on Friday, June 27, before any events and will remain in place until the parade is over.

This year, the parade will feature dozens of community groups and organizations. But leading the parade will be Braman Farms. Since 1825, the Braman family has farmed the lands on their properties in east Penfield, and now they’re being recognized for being so deeply connected to Penfield’s agricultural heritage.
