Speaking at a Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, Grossiconfirmed that the IAEA is monitoring the situation “very carefully” followingIsraeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, including the Natanz and Esfahanfacilities, adding that while no radiological leakage had been detected outsideany site, internal damage and contamination occurred at some locations.

At the Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant, Israeli attacksdestroyed the above-ground Pilot Fuel Enrichment facility along with theelectrical infrastructure. Although no direct hit was registered on theunderground cascade hall, Grossi noted that the power outage may havecompromised centrifuges.

Grossi further emphasized the importance of ongoingcooperation with Iranian authorities and confirmed that the Agency remainspresent in Iran. “Safeguards inspections will resume as soon as safetyconditions allow,” he stated, stressing the need for timely technical updatesto prevent miscalculations and ensure public safety.
