As accomplished as Walters' resume certainly is, a longtime friend of the TV icon has recently spoken about Walters' continued legacy, pointedly stating her belief that The View personality's interviews "haven't aged well."
"Some of her interviews haven’t aged well,” McFadden told People with a laugh.
In 1976, for example, the veteran broadcaster asked musician/actor Barbara Streisand, "Why didn’t you have your nose fixed?” In an interview with Martha Stewart, she asked the celebrity chef, "Martha, why do so many people hate you?”
Recalling many of these now infamous interview moments, McFadden observed, "No one got out of a Barbara interview unscathed.”
“She asked the questions that nobody else asked,” says Oprah Winfrey in the new Hulu documentary, which is currently slated for release on June 23.
