A tragic stampede occurred at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4 during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL 2025 victory celebrations. Eleven people died and many others were injured when an overwhelming crowd gathered inside and outside the venue. An FIR has been registered against KSCA officials.
Justice S. R. Krishna Kumar, presiding over a single-judge bench, granted interim protection from arrest to senior KSCA officials, provided they fully cooperate with the ongoing police investigation.
KSCA Secretary, Treasurer Resign After 11 Die in RCB Parade
A Shankar and A E Jairam stepped down from their roles as secretary and treasurer, respectively, issuing a joint statement on Saturday confirming their resignations. Both are reputed auditors from Bengaluru and have served the association for three years.
Shankar and Jairam said they submitted their resignations to KSCA President Raghuram Bhat on Thursday night and accepted moral responsibility for the tragedy. Their departures have triggered urgent internal discussions within the association.
KSCA President Raghuram Bhatt Calls for Emergency Meeting
According to The Times of India, KSCA President Raghuram Bhatt has called an emergency meeting at 4:30 PM today. Two officials took moral responsibility for the unforeseen and tragic stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The Karnataka government instructed the event organizers to end the program within 10 minutes upon being informed about the fatalities, and the organizers obliged with this directive.
