Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police have ramped up security in Puri, placing the Jagannath Temple and the city under an unprecedented security blanket due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The Srimandir, a major pilgrimage site drawing millions annually, is now guarded by armed police personnel stationed strategically around the temple, identified as a high-risk target.
As per reports, the National Security Guard (NSG) conducted a detailed security inspection at the temple, focusing on anti-terror protocols and crowd management ahead of the Rath Yatra festival on June 27.
Approximately 240 police personnel have been deployed in and around the temple to ensure safety.
