A Sunday afternoon fight between two women in Wheat Ridge turned fatal when one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other, police said.
The suspect, 47-year-old Imani Tate, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and violating a protection order that barred her from possessing weapons, according to a news release from the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
Wheat Ridge officers responded at about 3:27 p.m. Sunday to the fight in the 3900 block of Sheridan Boulevard, police said in the release. Witnesses told officers that Tate stabbed the other woman during, who has not been publicly identified, and started walking northbound on Sheridan.
Tate was arrested one-fifth of a mile away, near the intersection of Benton Street and West 41st Avenue, police said.
