Fremont police were contacted about 2:30 p.m. Sunday by Amtrak police who found what appeared to be a decapitated and “eviscerated” animal that was left on a park bench at the Centerville Train Station, 37260 Fremont Blvd.
In a news release, police said there were several bags located next to the bench. In one of the bags, police found a second animal that appeared to be decapitated and in another bag they discovered animal intestines or internal organs, authorities said.
Police said a forensic veterinarian has been contacted to assist in identifying the species of the animals and determine how they died. Additional updates will be provided when available.
