Million Dollar Secret is just about to launch on Netflix. Described as the streaming service’s answer to The Traitors, it is a game of hunter and hunted.
Over the course of eight episodes, the other players must hunt down who that is and eliminate them to be in with a chance of securing the cash for themselves.
We take a look at the contestants convinced they can con and deceive their way to a million dollars.

From a tight-knit family, relationships with loved ones are what matters most to her but she’s keen to get hold of the million dollars.
She said: “All those game nights were training me for this moment.”
“I care a lot about people’s feelings, and I never want to hurt anyone,” she said.
Chris
Contestant Chris Allen (Photo: Netflix)Educated at one of the Ivy League universities, Chris hopes his leadership skills and ability to stay cool in the face of conflict will set him apart in the lakeside villa.
“I want to gain a reputation in the house as a straightforward, trustworthy player and then cash in all of that trust for a late-game deception that will put me on the inside track to win a million dollars.”

Corey Niles is a 38-year-old builder.
He said: “Strategy can only take you so far in this cutthroat house.
But there is one thing Corey believes he can depend on – his talent for taking initiative.
Harry
Harry Donenfeld (Photo: Netflix)Harry Donenfeld, 59, is a photographer.
His plan is to “play a game of omission” without “being forced to lie outright”, so he can maintain a level of integrity.
Previously a personal photographer for multiple billionaires, this won’t be the first time Harry has rubbed shoulders with wealth so he should fit in well in the mansion.

As the eldest daughter in her family, she says she was raised to take ownership so throwing other players under the bus may not come naturally.

Jaimi’s biggest weakness, she claims, is being “too nice”.
Kyle
Contestant Kyle Wimberley (Photo: Netflix)Kyle Wimberley is a 27-year-old construction worker.
He said: “I am liable to start laughing immediately post-lie.”
He hopes being fully honest about himself will throw the other players, who will think his “truths are actually lies”.
“With crazy things happening daily and 11 other people making their own moves, it’s crucial to be able to adapt,” he said.

From Fargo in North Dakota, she is a self-proclaimed “expert of Midwest culture” but can also name all 50 states in under a minute.
She said: “I was trained to pick up on subtle changes in behaviour and tone.”
Lydia
Lydia Blair(Photo: Netflix)Lydia Blair is a 64-year-old retired escrow agent – someone who holds property in trust for third parties while a transaction is finalised or a disagreement is resolved.
She said: “In our society, a woman my age is invisible.
But there is more to Lydia than meets the eye. She has been playing in professional poker tournaments for 30 years and has a ruthless streak.
And she plans to keep her cards close to her chest.

Dr Phillip Roundtree, 41, is a university professor of social work, and a mental health advocate.
He said: “By being open about my life and showing my true personality, I know others will take everything at face value — even if I am being deceptive.”
“My biggest weakness is and probably will always be overanalysing. I tend to think through every possible scenario, and sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.”
Samantha
Contestant Samantha Hubbard (Photo: Netflix)She believes she can be a convincing liar and plans to portray herself as a stay-at-home mom who really needs the prize money.
She said: “My biggest weakness is caring and letting my heart get involved.”
“I’ve hung out with a lot of toads in Vegas just to sit at a table in a club and not spend a dime,” she said. “At least my feet didn’t hurt.”

With her career in video game research and passion for board games, Se Young believes she has developed a deep understanding of.
The only “workable strategy” is to stay under the radar and “avoid being annoying”, according to her.
Sydnee
Sydnee Falkner (Photo: Netflix)Sydnee Falkner, 32, works in medical sales.
She plans to play up the “blonde persona” to catch others by surprise.
“Everyone dismisses me based on my outward appearance. It’s happened my whole life and can serve its purpose when needed.”
“I’ve worked in negative 80-degree [Fahrenheit/minus 26°C] weather as a maintenance tech in pure darkness,” she said.
