When did Mushtaq Ahmed join Bangladesh?
Mushtaq Ahmed joined Bangladesh's cricket team as the spin bowling consultant ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA and remained till the end of the tournament.
After retiring as a player, Mushtaq has served the role of spin bowling coach with England from 2008 to 2014. He has also held the same position with West Indies and Pakistan from 2018 to 2022. He has also been a bowling consultant of Pakistan from 2014 to 2016.
Mushtaq Ahmed's international numbers
The 54-year-old played 52 Tests in his career and picked up 185 wickets at an average of 32.97 with 10 five-wicket hauls. The legspinner also played 144 ODIs and picked up 161 wickets at an average of 33.29 and an economy rate of 4.26.
He was also a part of Pakistan's 1992 World Cup-winning team. It is the only 50-over World Cup won by Pakistan till date. After retiring as a player, he has constantly been a part of various coaching set-ups across the world.
