MCDONALD’S is appealing to the inflation-weary with another extension of its $5 meal deal and new menu options.

With eight items in total, the McValue menu marks a large shakeup for the chain.
Buying one of the items allows you to add another for just $1.
For breakfast, there are four options on this menu.
Sausage Biscuit Sausage McMuffin Sausage Burrito Hash BrownsThere are another four offerings for lunch and dinner.
Double Cheeseburger McChicken 6 Piece Chicken Nuggets Small FriesThe $1 deal applies to an added item of equal or lesser value to the main item you purchase.
Essentially, the lowest cost item from the group that you add will be discounted to $1.
Unlike typical meal deals, which come with set offerings, the Buy One, Add One system allows customers to mix up their orders while getting savings.
Participation may vary by location, however.
It’s not clear how long the offer will last.
The $5 meal deal offer, however, has been extended repeatedly after being introduced as a limited-time offer.

With Americans still reeling from inflation, many are eating out less.
That’s caused some major chains to scramble to boost profits.
In the fall, Subway offered a $6.99 meal deal.
However, that was ultimately axed within about a month of its rollout.
To compete with McDonald’s, KFC also released a $5 deal.
Some restaurant chains are closing locations to make up for losses, like at TGI Fridays.
A Friendly’s in Pennsylvania recently announced its closure.
