EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.

Dec. 21

4:45 a.m.: A caller in the 6900 block of 3rd Street reported someone kept ringing her garage door bell every couple minutes.

11:15 a.m.: A caller at 15th Avenue and 15th Street reported some “suspicious characters” with a trailer full of lawn care equipment acting very strange.

5:30 p.m.: A caller at a theater in the 800 block of 9th Street reported two men burning random items behind the theater.

Dec. 22

3:30 a.m.: A caller in the 2000 block of 31st Street reported someone knocked on her door asking to use the bathroom. When she said no, the man just sat in front of her door for 10 minutes.

10:00 p.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 24th Street reported a man crouched down in the bushes trying to open the caller’s window.

Dec. 23

1:00 a.m.: A caller at 22nd Street and Reservoir Road reported hearing a crash. The caller didn’t have a visual but said it sounded like two vehicles.

7:00 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported a group of children pushing each other around in a shopping cart in the parking lot.

8:00 p.m.: A woman at a hospital in the 6700 block of 29th Street kept calling, telling the call-taker “I’ve been a captive,” and saying she was in a basement.

10:45 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported a group of children — ranging in age from seven to 12 — were pounding on the caller’s door. The kids were playing on the railroad tracks, and the caller was concerned for their safety being out so late.

Dec. 24

11:30 a.m.: A caller at a grocery store in the 6900 block of 10th Street reported a group of people panhandling and playing music in the parking lot.

7:45 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported her 13-year-old put something in her drink. The caller thought it was an essential oil but wanted an officer to respond just in case.

8:00 p.m.: A caller at a gas station in the 2500 block of 11th Avenue reported a smashed-up car that looked as if someone had taken a baseball bat to it. The caller was told it belonged to someone in the store and was worried about that person driving it away.

10:15 p.m.: A caller who lived in the 1700 block of 8th Avenue reported the security cameras at his house had come unplugged while he was out of town. The caller wasn’t sure how it happened but was wondering if someone could plug them back in.

Dec. 25

12:30 a.m.: A caller at an apartment complex in the 500 block of 10th Avenue reported hearing either trains or constant music. The caller wasn’t sure whether it was coming from inside the building.
