A band plans to give back to local music students on Jan. 17 through a fundraising concert in partnership with the Success Foundation
The Burroughs, a beloved Greeley-based band, and the Success Foundation, the fundraising arm of Greeley-Evans School District 6, will team up to host “Bowl with The Burroughs,” a fundraising effort to support District 6 music programs.
The family-friendly event, where attendees can experience live music as they bowl, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at 2454 West in Greeley, according to a joint news release from The Burroughs and the Success Foundation. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Between 7-9 p.m., The Burroughs will deliver a high-energy set “live on the lanes.” Select District 6 music students will also have a chance to perform with the band, the release said.
In 2019, the band launched the “Bands Give Back” initiative to increase access to music education through fundraising and outreach. Since then, the efforts have included “fundraising events, special performances and educational outreach by The Burroughs and other local musicians,” according to the release.
A portion of all sales — ticket, bowling, food and beverage — at the upcoming Bands Give Back event will go toward District 6 music programs.
General admission tickets cost $13 and can be purchased in advance or at the door, the release said. All bowling purchases will be made separately at the venue.
