FLORENCE, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Andrew Cook did everything the United States government asked of him as prosecutors worked to send his former boss to federal prison. His boss, Marlboro County Sheriff Charles Lemon, along with Cook, were both indicted by a grand jury in January 2024. Both men initially pleaded guilty. But exactly one week after the indictment, Cook was aiming to make a deal with prosecutors to avoid the maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
