AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A total of 17 people were displaced in a southeast Austin apartment fire that spread to 10 apartments, the Austin Fire Department said on social media Tuesday. The agency said no injuries were reported. AFD said around 3 p.m. crews responded to the apartment complex in the 2100 block of Burton Drive with "heavy smoke and fire," the agency said. AFD said adjacent apartments were evacuated, along with pets inside those apartments. Crews continued looking for "additional life and fire." The agency said to continue avoiding the area.
