Chapel Hill Police responded to a report of a crash in the 300 block of North Estes Drive in Chapel Hill on Friday afternoon. Officers say 61-year-old town resident Karla Slocum was driving westbound on North Estes when she made a left turn and struck a 13-year-old cyclist. Police say the cyclist was taken to UNC Hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. According to a release from the department, Slocum is being charged with failure to yield. Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional information is available at this time.
