JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Gov. Tate Reeves said Wednesday that he is appointing a district attorney in northeast Mississippi to become a judge on the state Court of Appeals. John Weddle of Saltillo will succeed former Judge Jim M. Greenlee of Oxford, who retired June 30. Weddle will step down from his current job and begin serving on the 10-member court on Oct. 14. Weddle has practiced law since 1995 and has been district attorney since 2015 in Alcorn, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss and Tishomingo counties. He was previously an assistant district attorney for the seven counties. Weddle also previously served as public defender in Lee County and municipal court judge in Tu
