IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Two people have been charged with felony child abuse after an infant was found with injuries consistent with cigarette lighter burns and bite marks, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday. Deputies responded to a home on Powder Horn Road, north of Mooresville, on Tuesday, July 23, for a welfare check on a 10-month-old infant. Family members had called when they noticed bruises and other unexplained markings on the baby's body. When deputies and Iredell County EMS personnel arrived at the home they also observed several bruises and injuries to the infant.
