CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - Two juveniles have been arrested and charged in a deadly street racing hit-and-run in east Charlotte from over the weekend, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said on Monday. Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 9:44 a.m. on Sunday near 8900 Albemarle Road in east Charlotte. Robert Birch, 81, was found suffering from injuries and was transported to an area medical center where he was later pronounced dead. An initial investigation stated that Birch was driving his vehicle when he was caught in the middle of two other vehicles, a Toyota Scion and a Nissan 350z, that were racing each other.
