LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - An arrest has been made following a deadly wreck in Vale, North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Monday. Troopers responded to calls regarding the incident Monday morning around 7:20 a.m. on NC 18 near NC 10. Lawndale resident Barry Mckee, 59, was found suffering from injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. An initial investigation stated that Mckee was in a van and was struck by Dobson resident Jose Moreno, 31, who was in a pickup. Moreno failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Mckee, according to the sheriff's office.
