To the Editor, Before Covid, the City of Ukiah offered group swim lessons. For every teacher there were 5 -6 students, so with eight teachers you had 48 children every hour being taught to be proficient swimmers.  (8 sessions? 384 children a day) People who would be safe, and stay safe, from drowning in an area replete with rivers, creeks and lakes, and the ocean. Up at the pool today there was at least 11 teachers. Each one with one student. 11 children an hour, not 48. ( eight sessions? 88 children a day) There has been, by this paper’s own reporting, a large increase in drownings, a completely preventable tragedy. I cannot understand why the City has decided to change its way of facilitat
