Bhubaneswar: A retired executive engineer in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district has been sentenced to two years imprisonment after his conviction in a disproportionate assets case. The ex-executive engineer has been identified as Narahari Panda of Brahmani, Subarnarekha, Baitarani Basin, Laxmiposi, Baripada, Mayurbhanj. Panda, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case for possession of disproportionate assets, was convicted to two years jail and fine of Rs.50,000. Odisha Vigilance said that it will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Panda following his conviction.
