NILES — Charles J. “Chuck” Carnes, 77, of Niles, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at his residence. He was born Sept. 17, 1946, in Lilly, Pa., the son of Elmer Carnes and Catherine Slebodnick Bertram. Chuck was employed for General Motors Lordstown for 34 years retiring in 2004, a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, lifetime member of Niles Eagles #1476 and Niles Moose. He enjoyed NASCAR, boxing, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a United States Naval veteran. His wife Gloria “Patti” Rickens Carnes whom he married Oct. 15, 1966, died July 22, 2020.
