After several days of fielding tips from the public, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it successfully identified the victim whose body was discovered in Jordan Lake last week. A release from the office said the body — which a forensic sketch shared with the public said is a possible homicide victim — is of Apex resident Hadeel Ghadhanfer Hikmat. She was 34 years old. The sheriff’s office said Hikmat’s positive identification was ultimately determined through fingerprint analysis.
